Molly Ann Rosas Garcia - President

 Molly Ann Rosas-Garcia has lived in San Marcos all of her life. She is a local philanthropist and has been a highly active community member for over 18 years serving on numerous boards and committees. She is a firm believer you get out of the community what you put in it. Moreover, Molly Ann is a proud Class of 1998 Rattler Alum. In 2010, Molly Ann graduated from Leadership San Marcos and was appointed as the President in 2015. She is also a Founding member of The Women’s Council, a non-profit who awards yearly grants to Women and Children non-profits in Hays County. Since its inception in 2010 they have awarded over $100K in our community.  In 2014 Molly Ann was part of the inaugural Citizens Civic Academy with the City of San Marcos. In 2008 Molly Ann was appointed by City Council to serve on the city’s Main Street Advisory board where she served as Chairman for 6 years. In the past she has also served on the Board of Directors for the San Marcos Heritage Association where she chaired their Home Tour, Texas State University’s Friend of Fine Arts and Communication board and TX State’s College of Health Professions COARC board, just to name a few. She is also a past chairman of the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and a former Board member of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2011, Molly Ann was recognized as a Shining Star under 40 in San Marcos for all her hard work and contributions to our community. Last summer she was appointed to the Board of Directors of School Fuel which is currently serving over 700 students who have a high-risk of little or no food at home. Molly Ann states, “Over 78% of our school age children are on reduced or free meals at school. Most of them go home on the weekends to little or no food…I hope to be able to help increase the 703 to all of the 78% in our school district in addition to spread awareness on how everyone can help us achieve this. After all we are all part of this community and we must all Fuel our Children for Learning.”

Abbey Carnes - Vice President

 Abbey Carnes, Assistant Vice President, is the first Director of Marketing for the Ozona Bank team. While the bank has served its communities for more than 110 years, she has brought the bank to the forefront of customer experience while encouraging the same hometown integrity that the bank has been known for since 1905. She was nominated to the first class of the Federal Reserve’s BOLT (Banking on the Leaders of Tomorrow) program in 2016 and upon completion capitalized on the passion of that program to become more involved in educating and advocating for the community banking industry. She joined IBAT (Independent Bankers Association of Texas) and was elected as Region 7 President and board member of the IBAT Leadership Division, which includes 20-plus counties in the central and southwest areas of Texas; she will hold the position through 2020. The nearly 700-member IBAT Leadership Division is divided into 13 regions, each of which hosts education and networking events for community bankers in the area throughout the year. The division also serves to recognize educational and training shortages and to provide resources to close the gap between them. Abbey studied History, Technical Writing, and Religious Studies at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. Her commitment to her position, industry, and ongoing effort to make positive changes through education and advocacy translates to all industries.

Patti Daily - Board Member

 Patti Daily is a San Marcos resident of 32 years. Patti graduated from Texas A&M University in 1980 where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education Curriculum and Instruction. She spent her career educating children and is a retired teacher of 34 years. Patti began her career in education teaching Language Arts in grades 3, 4 and 5 in Fort Bend ISD. She spent the remainder of her career teaching kindergarten at Caldwell ISD and Lockhart ISD. Patti retired from Lockhart ISD in 2014. She has served as a mentor to new teachers as well as a cooperating teacher for Texas State and Texas A&M student teachers. Patti continues to share her passion for teaching and learning as a substitute teacher and volunteer. She has given her time to create and implement a holiday program for kindergarten students. As an educator of 30 plus years, Patti’s philosophy has remained the same: “In order for a child to achieve to the best of his or her ability they must be able to learn in a safe, nurturing environment that is engaging and challenging, yet FUN!” Patti is a resident of San Marcos and an active member of First United Methodist Church San Marcos. She volunteers as Trustee and Communion Coordinator. Patti’s love for children, experience as an educator along with her connection with the San Marcos area are valuable to all stakeholders at CLEAR.

Phyllis Raemsch - Board Member

  Phyllis Raemsch is a recently retired educator of 32 years.  She graduated from Texas State University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Phyllis grew up in Lockhart, Texas and taught kindergarten for 32 years at Carver Kindergarten in Lockhart.  She started her teaching career in 1982 and had the privilege to work alongside some exceptional educators. During her teaching career Phyllis served as a mentor teacher, cooperating teacher to several student teachers and served on numerous campus and district boards. Throughout her teaching career, she found the most important way to bond with children is to be caring and sensitive to their needs. Phyllis stated, “When we are kind and loving to children, they will open their hearts and enjoy their learning adventure.  It is my belief that children are naturally motivated to play. A play-based program builds on this motivation, using play as a context for learning. In this context, children can explore, experiment, discover and solve problems in imaginative and playful ways.” As a retired teacher Phyllis has continued her desire for teaching by volunteering to create and implement a Christmas program with 68 kindergarten students as well as serving as a substitute teacher. “Being in the classroom always refuels my passion for teaching!” Phyllis’ experience and passion for education provides a refreshing perspective to the development of CLEAR Public Charter School.

Madalyn Webber - Board Member

 Madalyn Webber is apart of the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce Staff. Madalyn was raised and grew up in the Dallas/FT Worth Metroplex and attended Marcus High School. She graduated from Texas State University in May of 2018. Previously before her current role, she interned for a year at The Greater San Marcos Partnership, the area's economic development partnership. Madalyn taught classes at Workforce solutions for two years through the ENACTUS program at TXST University. She currently leads the Business Development Committee under Dr. Minifie, Director of Service Learning program at TXST.
